Shepherds Of Cats / Panelak / VJ Pietrushka
Shepherds of Cats is a Wroclaw (PL)-based Anglo-Polish band exploring the the outer limits of good taste and pushing the envelope of what should be considered acceptable. Their compositions are created in real time; though sometimes time, like good taste and sense, is suspended. They are hunter gatherers – hunting and gathering sounds and re-appropriating them in sometimes inappropriate manners. They are well mannered and well-meaning. They have shame but no ego.
VJ Pietrushka (aka Maciej Piatek) is a video artist and filmmaker based in the UK. His work reflects a pure and authentic pursuit of visual experimentation. His video projections function sometimes not only as visual narratives but also as autonomous light beamers. Use of various video techniques such as found footage, collage films & VJing, has helped him to create an original mood & atmosphere around his live sets. His work has been screened & exhibited both nationally and internationally in places such as Arnolfini in Bristol, Babylon Cinema in Berlin, The Vienna Künstlerhaus and The Embros Theatre in Athens.
Leeds experimental label honcho (Angurosakuson) Pascal Ansell adapts 'pure experimentation and some guitar thrash' (Idwal Fisher) into wholesome songs. New full-length CD-R Heimat includes kaleidoscopic electronics, noise squalling and office poetry and has been described as '"an unhinged collection of digital scree... its seven tracks are an exercise in maximalism, a collision of distorted gunk and frazzled wires." (We Need No Swords). New EP release on Bristol's LF Records is scheduled for Spring 2015.
